Disabling Snap Shots PopUps

I recently learned that Snap Shots popup boxes were annoying visitors to my website by appearing whenever the site visitor hovered their mouse cursor over one of the many links on my webpages.

It took a little bit of Googling for me to find the answer as to how I could disable this feature, not only on my website but on other webpages that I may visit.

The most disconcerting aspect for me was that I hadn’t realised that this feature was enabled by default on WordPress.com blogs.

You can listen to my audio segment on the NosillaCast podcast on 7th September explaining how to disable the Snap Shots feature .

If you would like to learn how to prevent the Snap Shots boxes appearing on sites you visit, or on your own WordPress.com blog, then view my video below.

  1. Jane,

You are correct those popup boxes were annoying. Nice work on the video.

  2. Jane — You are a Genius! …and if I ever get back down to Your little island, I’ll buy you a Drink.

Such a wonderful find, I utterly stopped the NosillaCast podcast and popped over to your site to check out your directions… (btw… is there suppose to be sound there?)
Oh I am so happy now… I discovered that annoyance this weekend and was pretty unhappy, since I post a lot of photo’s to my blog entries. I don’t want my reader plagued as well. I can’t thank you enough!

Glad to be of service, Michael!
Yes there is sound on the video and it seems to be working fine for me, just check to see if the sound slider at the bottom right of the video box has moved to the left, if so slide it to the right and you should hear my audio commentary with the video. Let me know if that works.
And I look forward to that drink!
